Two-for-One Sale – Multi-Award-Winning, Acclaimed Australian SF

This year, Ghost of the Neon God won both Best Science Fiction Novella at the Aurealis Awards, and Best Novella at the Ditmars. The Aurealis is a juried award, and genuinely features the best of Australian SF. The Ditmars is by popular vote – and while these types of awards can be flawed – nonetheless reflects the acclaim of the local fan community.

Here’s the thing: it’s super rare to win both (I looked back over the last twenty 20 years and found perhaps four other examples). To do so means you’ve achieved a rare feat.

And here’s the next thing: I’ve done it twice. The first time around with my debut, 36 Streets, also a Ditmar and Aurealis winner.

And here, reader, is the third thing: Ghost of the Neon God has really struggled with sales. I can’t account for it, given the near-universal praise it has received on Goodreads, by reviewers, and in the awards ecosystem. It is – according to the above – some of the most acclaimed of Australian SF, and yet has flown completely under the radar. I mean it hasn’t even flown. Crawled perhaps?

I put this to my publisher, asking whether they could bundle 36 Streets and Ghost of the Neon God together as a sale, showcasing some of the best of Australian SF (and I feel a bit gross saying this about my own work, and it is gross, but if an author won’t advocate for themselves, then no-one else will).

Titan Books agreed, and have put both books together as omnibus edition (eBook only). The cost of the bundle is about the same as one of the books individually, and thus great value.

So – looking for for a last minute Christmas gift (including to yourself)? Want the best the Land Downunder has to offer, and some of the best cyberpunk anywhere going around today? And do you want it all at a low low price?

If so, then you’re a demanding bastard then, aren’t you?

Anyway, you’ve got it. If you’ve liked any of my other works, it’s hard to go wrong with this. I’m proud of these stories, and think they’re worthy of your time.
